This is Haoyang. He is from Gansu, but now in Beijing. He has too rare of a heart condition to be treated anywhere else in China but a specialist hospital in Beijing.

He had an outstanding surgery, but he was in ICU for over 70 days...

The poor parents had only seen the boy twice since they waved goodbye to Haoyang going into OR.

The first time was when the doctors told them their boy had a rare complication of neural symptoms...he lost his sight, hearing and also comprehension and speech. They were let in the ICU for 5 min to record their boy's uncontrolled twitches...so that they can go find a neurologist while the boy is still in ICU....

The second time was when they told them the boy has severe lymph drainage, and his lungs were crushed that he needed a repair surgery...the parents saw their boy as he was pushed out form ICU to OR and from OR back into ICU...

Everyone but the parents had given up on the hope of recovery. But as if pulled back to life, the boy miraculously got better recently. within 5days, he was freed from tubes of any kind, can see and hear and understand basic instructions.

Our staff visited Haoyang the second say he is out from ICU, the dad arriving the hospital a few steps before us.

We were so moved by the scene, yet felt like we interupted a special moment.

Haoyang and dad may not have spoken, but their eyes says it all....
