K-12 educators -- improve teaching about Asia
Created: 2 year(s) ago
Americans need to know much more about Asia's rich past and its dynamic present. Most states now mandate instruction on Asia. But many teachers are not well-prepared or equipped to offer their students the lessons they need. The US-China Institute at USC and the SPICE program at Stanford are both working to address this by providing teachers with workshops and curriculum materials.Go to the k-12 section of the USCI website (http://china.usc.edu) and SPICE's website (http://spice.stanford.edu/) to learn more.
USCI also invites teachers to participate in the Asia in My Classroom discussion forum. More than 600 teachers have contributed over 14,000 posts discussing films, books, websites, teaching strategies, and more. The forum is open to teachers at all grade levels and in all subject areas. Please visit the forum at http://uschinaforum.usc.edu to request a username and password. |
