This past summer I was invited by Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corp and Root International Peace Corp to join them on tour #181 to Panama, Nicuragua, and Honduras. Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps and Root International Peace Corp are both a wonderful non-profit organization that dedicates their time in improving the quality of life through medical services and health education in impoverished populations. The organization’s main focus will be in rural areas where access to healthcare is limited. They diagnose and treat various illnesses and diseases that are held in these one day clinics. When necessary, they also prescribe and dispense medications and vitamins to the patients. They are most notable for dispensing the medication at no cost to the patients. The organizations have volunteered over one hundred and eighty missions in the mountain ranges of Taiwan and abroad. Many locations they visit are known to be underdeveloped and isolated. Both Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps and Root International Peace Corps are charitable organizations and should be recognized for their efforts in improving the lives of many less fortunate individuals. It was quite an adventure to experience. I enjoyed meeting all the volunteers and caring for patients in a short period of time. In such a short period of time I was able to impact many lives in a positive manner.
