Today when I came in we began with some essay editing and publicising. Halfway through, we started talking about colleges and Steve reminded us what an amazing opportunity we have to be part of this internship. And it’s true! I realize that I’ve taken this internship for granted. I don’t treasure it as much as I should. But as cliche as it sounds, this really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will shape my future. It was through this internship that I confirmed my passion for serving others and was able to directly help children in need. It was here that I learned about different social injustices and took a stand towards fighting against it. Working as an East Villagers Intern is such a unique and priceless experience that I would not trade for anything.
