Description

Penn Team HBV was founded January 2009 by board members of the Penn Taiwanese Society. In previous years, the Penn Taiwanese has been dedicated to raising awareness to the disproportionately high incidence of hepatitis B (HBV) and liver cancer among the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community through community service events and volunteering at HBV screening clinics. We shine a new light on our efforts by collaborating with the Asian Liver Center at Stanford University to establish a Team HBV chapter at the University of Pennsylvania. News and Updates:

We recently held our 3 vs. 3 Basketball Tournament a few weeks ago with a great turnout and intense playing.

Patric as well as other members of the Team HBV: U Penn have landed in California, ready to present said event for the Team HBV Collegiate Conference. We wish them the best of luck and hope you enjoy their presentation!

We are also currently trying to push Team HBV: U Penn as a separate club entity on campus. As of now, Team HBV is a sub-club under Penn's Taiwanese Association. Updates pending.

Additionally, we are partnering with a medical student and his associates who have created a blogging website with translated information about Hepatitis B to several languages. We wish to help with this endeavor to spread awareness about this health disparity. Updates pending.

Please keep checking this page for more updates as the year progresses!

With all the Team HBV chapters starting off the academic year, I thought I'd let you all in with an update from U Penn! It's chilly and the midterm chaos is barely passing but with the fall sun popping in and out, it's the perfect setting for the Penn Taiwanese Society's Team HB...
