Established in 2009, S.H.E.N.A - Haiti is a public, non-profit, youth organization with programs serving children, ages 6-16, in Les Cayes, Haiti metro area. The focus of the program is to promote youth sport participation, promote healthy development in youth, and increase youth access to proper nutrition. S.H.E.N.A - Haiti office space is located in Kansas City. The Club is located near Les Cayes’ downtown area.

S.H.E.N.A - Haiti is born out of a personal passion and the desire to feed and help children in under-developed areas. Born and raised in Haiti, Rose-Marie Chaperon, the original founder of S.H.E.N.A - Haiti is aware of the 5-year-old teetered on broomstick legs — he weighed less than 20 pounds, even after days of drinking enriched milk. Nearby, a 4-year-old girl hung from a strap attached to a scale, her wide eyes lifeless, and her emaciated arms dangling weakly.



In pockets of Haiti accessible only by donkey or foot, children are dying of malnutrition — their already meager food supply cut by a series of devastating storms that destroyed crops, wiped out livestock, and sent food prices spiraling. Children are dying every day due to malnutrition, there are fears the toll will rise much higher if help does not come quickly to the impoverished Caribbean Nation.
