Responsibilities: >Link between youth from Kenya, Tanzania and Germany by organizing for youth exchange programs, work camps, training workshops and study programs on youth development, environment and rural programs on sustainable development. >Selecting interviewees and interviewing the youth from Kenya for participation.
Canadian Crossroads International.
Position: To Canada Co-coordinator.
Responsibilities; >Organizing exchange programs for Kenyans and Canadians wishing to volunteer their services in areas of Health, Education, Agriculture, Environment and Community Development both in Canada and Kenya. >Conducting Orientation programs for local and overseas volunteers. > Conducting interviews for Kenyan volunteers to Canada. >Organizing for Canadian volunteers work placements and home hosts in Kenya.
Friends of Scouting and guiding societies of East Africa.
Position: Secretary General, and founder member from 1998 to 2002

Responsibilities, >Receiving incoming hostellers, cashiering, bookkeeping, banking. > preparing training programme for staff and volunteers, preparing promotional and marketing materials for the Association e.g. brochures, posters and website development. >Drawing up budgets, strategic planning for the Association program for the years ahead. >Purchasing of foodstuff, house keeping and sanitary equipments, provision of touristic information on Kenya and beyond, General management.
VOICE OF KENYA. (KBC).
Programme Assistant. Responsibilities. Scheduling of interviews, >production and presentation of youth programs in particular ‘Pamoja Twajenga’ and ‘Together we build’ in Kiswahili and English. >Script writing, archiving finished programs for future retrieval.
Recognition Award 2001: Awarded by the Canadian House of Commons through ministry of International Co-operation, in recognition of elevating human experience, outstanding contribution and service as a volunteer member with Canadian Crossroads International.
Dr James Robinson Award 2000: Awarded by the Canadian crossroads International in recognition and appreciation of commitment to International Development, Education, promoting international peace and cross-cultural understanding among world Nations.
Seruice Award 1995: Awarded by Harry Balfour School, Canada, in recognition of outstanding contribution to school life and cross cultural understanding.
Long Service Award 2003:Kenya Youth Hostels Association. Presented by the Association’s Patron Hon Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, in recognition of outstanding long service and commitment towards the growth of Kenya Youth Hostels Association.
5 Baden Powell Award 1989: Awarded by the Chief Commissioner Boy scouts of Nippon (Japan) In recognition of outstanding volunteer contributions towards the Scouting Movement and the International Community of Youth.

About Me
James Muraguri Gichohi Was Born on 21 st March 1966 in Nyeri District,Kenya.Early Education Musingu Primary school 1971 Kakamega thereafter Nyeri Kiarithaini Primary school. High school attended Mweru high school in Mukurweini Nyeri and Kiarithaini High School in Karatina, Nyeri. Joined St Philips Institute of Science and Technology of Australia for distance learning course in Youth Work and Development ,later joined The African Institute for Economic and Social Development for courses in Agriculture and Management,trained in other field of youth Guidance &Councelling and development. Later in 1988 Secured a job with Kenya Youth Hostels Association,A distinguished Volunteer with the Scouting movement in Kenya and East Africa,The Canadian Crossroads International,GIB-German society for international meetings among others. My interests are in development issues and a focus in politics as a way to build the society music,writing,reading,meeting and sharing with people,to serve the less fortunate and especially the Youth in focus to Development as my key concern.
