Little Red Scarf ----- is a project funded by Ping & Amy Chao Foundation to provide the financing of children suffering from congenital heart disease. The operation is now still under way. 2009-04-07, Ping & Amy Chao visted my( the authors) hospital (China Lanzhou) for several children with heart disease, thankfully, they all have been completed the surgery. And much like the case of Dongdong Dai( the boy with congenital heart disease I wrote about in last blog ), the other following surgical procedures in children are roughly the same, but only the difficulty and risks are increasing gradually. Im going to complete the surgery, and I want to share some case who are now in their recovering process, the several children are as follows:

2009-04-07，Ping & Amy Chao来我院（中国兰州）慰问的几位小朋友（心脏病患儿）的手术均已完成。就像歹栋栋一样，后面的几位患儿手术过程大致一样，但难度与风险均逐渐加大。我现将以完成手术，并逐渐康复中的几位患儿的情况介绍如下：

这些孩子的均来自边远山村，父辈及父辈的父辈均是农民，在西部农村干旱缺水，收入很少。由于家中条件限制及自己身体条件无法和同龄人一样正常生活。象歹栋栋的父母一样，都承担自己孩子抚养以及自己父母的赡养；虽然努力的工作，依然无法负担高额的手术费用，是“爱心汇总”基金会；Ping & Amy Chao Foundation (趙修平夫婦基金會)帮助了他们，使他们可以象正常孩子一样生活、学习，给了他们希望。我和我的同事们感谢“爱心汇总”基金会；Ping & Amy Chao Foundation (趙修平夫婦基金會)。向你们致敬！

These children are from remote mountain village, parents and grandparents are all farmers, with drought and water shortage in the western rural areas, they have really little income.As a result of home conditions and their own physical condition, they cant enjoy their life as other child with the same age, let alone the chil living in cities.

Just as the parents of Dongdong DAI, the parents of those children have to support their old parents together with their child, although hard work, they still can not afford the high cost of the surgery.

But for the help from Ping & Amy Chao Foundation, they cant live a normal childs life, without your kindness, what they now have--- the right for living, learning and hope would probably be a faraway dream! so my colleagues and I have to thank you, to Ping & Amy Chao Foundation, from the bottom of our heart! At 8:30 am after DAI Dongdong was anesthetized successfully, a cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) was installed for him. At 9:00 am, Dr. DONG performed a reparation surgery for interventricular septal defect, and the surgery was completed successfully at 10:00 am. At 10:30 am, DAI Dongdong moved from the surgery room to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the cardiovascular department to receive top-grade 24-hour caring by nurses of the cardiovascular department.
Recovery Status: Currently DAI Dongdong’s condition is stable. He has moved out from the ICU and is staying in a regular ward with his parents.

About DAI Dongdong: I am a child in an agricultural family in Xichuan Township, Qin'an County, Gansu, China. My parents live on cultivating. Since I have congenital heart disease, my father does odd jobs during his spare time to get treatments for me. My physical condition added to the burdens of my straitened family. During my daily life, I often have asthma breakouts or catch colds (upper respiratory tract infections.) According to my parents, when I took an examination at the county hospital at a chance, I was diagnosed congenital heart disease. Due to the conditions of my family, I could not receive the full treatment. I wish that I can go to school just as other people and repay my parents in the future. However, due to my familial and physical restraints I could not go to school learning as other people of my age. Upon hearing that the foundation is funding surgeries for impoverished children like me, I feel very glad and appreciate Ai Xin Hui Zong Foundation for offering us these opportunities. Surgery Date (手術日期):2009-04-09  08：30 我们麻醉成功后，建立了体外循环（CPB）。09：00 由doctor DONG，进行了室间隔缺损修补术手术，10：00手术成功结束，10：30歹栋栋由手术室移至心血管外科的重症监护室（ICU），由心血管外科的护士进行24小时特级护理。

Recovery Status (康復情形):目前歹栋栋的病情平稳，已从重症监护室（ICU）搬出，住进普通病房，目前和他的父母在一起。

歹栋栋一般介绍：歹栋栋是秦安县西川乡的农民的孩子，父母以务农为主，由于有先天性心脏病，父亲靠农闲打工来为我治病，由于我的身体状况给很拮据的家庭更增加了负担，在平时玩耍时常有气喘、也经常感冒（上呼吸道感染）。听父母讲，偶然的机会，在县医院进行了检查得出了先心病的检查结果，在平时由于家中条件的限制我也没有进行完整的治疗。我希望自己能和他们一样按时上学，将来有机会回报我的父母。但是由于家中条件限制及我的身体条件我无法和同龄人一样学习！这次听说基金会专门资助我们这些贫困的孩子做手术，我心中非常高兴，同时我非常感谢“爱心汇总”基金会给我们这些机会。因此我真诚的写出我的心声，特此申请，请各位叔叔阿姨帮帮我，希望得到“爱心汇总”的救助。（以上由doctor MIN 整理）
