To play or not to play-that is the question: Whether 'tis better to postpone and do't later And leave all homework aside to have fun, Or to make haste and finish it on time And, by doing so, get A's. To do, to suffer The tedious process of doing work And spending long hours on a large Especially if it's due the next day 'Tis an awful situation. To play, to enjoy- Until it's much too late. Ay, there's the hitch, For the trouble of leisure time causes many setbacks, And pulls us towards temptation. However we must overcome the attraction Of making this mistake.
I'm working on English literature, one of my finals~for relaxation I post the above funny mimicry.

There are times when you have to sit down and write something, perhaps on reflection, especially for the particular days, the days before the coming of the next year. And here is what i'd like to say, for what actually occurs to us, our generation that grows old and numb with each passing day, that there're some events and experiences that prooved helpful and valuable. For happy is it for those who start to figure out how things work and understand more about what's happening around them. One English essay a week, it seems like a routine and a bore. But it's such a big treasure. We were told once that the papers we hand in should be logically rigid and clear cut in meaning. In argumentative essays colorfulness is not. Students are fed up with their weekly burdensome work, and of course, we soon learn how to save time and everything. A half year passed, a total of 12 essays finished, what happens is that we are different, we had a special training. Thinking modes is not what can be heard from teacher's lectures, and values are farther away from the content of a lesson. There are slight changes to the collective mentality as well, though hard to relate. Our teacher has taught us something beyond writing skills, but to see a bigger picture and a panoramic view. It is always lucky to meet people that brings you to the door of self improvement and elevation, and it is more so that whoever we see, we learn something. Indeed, the fundamental changes that happen to a person is on the level of thinking, much more than anything. Although something less, and something more will break the perfect equilibrium. Year 3, the time when you start to notice things and sum up, what you've been up to and what you actually gained, on the bewildering answer sheet laid out, composed of many questions and tasks, some pointing directly to the future, of whether you think you're well-prepared to face the road ahead, or of what you consider yourself to be, as a person, and as one to society. There are other essays. We were asked to join a competition for English composition, despite the boring subject we managed to fulfill it according to our teacher's instructions. I start to figure out how important it is that a humanities major student would have to write well, smoothly, clearly and so on. That's when you no longer look on them as a headache but a compulsory course and a routine. It occured to me once of what's called humanistic care from my friends story. This years greetings have been so sentimental. why is it that for the reencounter there is always a bit sadness and nostalgia, and more to it. It's classic chinese poetry again. Last week greeting an old friend of mine quite coincidentally she appeared to miss me pretty much. When I left first at lunch for the final exam I could see her eyes wet. What happens to you and me, and how are you doing? There're surprise and overjoy, assumptions and jealousy...Too much if we have to leave again soon, there might not be a chance to meet. Just like when we heard of a death of whoever's we sighed. When leaving becomes a rule, it might be only feasible to get used to it. Many more that I can tell that can be crammed on a sheet paper. Last year I wrote the blog on the last day of that year, only the website changed and the account removed. But joy and guilt and loss is reserved. And the wait for an earthly comedy.

The three week Pesi program is coming to an end. Yet I have so much to say. Maybe we have all noticed the cultural barrier at the beginning week. There are times when the American students stood in a circle and laugh out loud, telling some jokes I don't understand. And I stood motionless and faceless. But in this way, we knew things out of our expectation. There is the talk on languages. The American students know lots of Chinese, some of them can speak well, some of them can speak dialects. I guess I would be able to learn Cantonese from them. It sounds really familiar to us. Communication is even more fun. We told them lots of gestures. In turn, they told us even more. It is exciting to see Americans use so many facial expressions, and can express different sorts of emotions. When they took pictures, they showed them in front of the camera, and we saw lots of cute faces. They say in western culture, people emphasize one's liveliness as opposed to acceptance. I'm quite impressed by such liveliness, and what's more, they're all brave to show it. SOmetimes they bring back our moments of childhood, when we gather on the stage to perform a fairy tale or fable. They are all good actors in one way or another. In the first week, our American friend told us that being assertive is a must in their education. I'm quite struck by their value as we often train ourselves to listen more, and are not encouraged to express ourselves out. Seeing everyone can tell you straight what they think you should do and what is not advisable is a complete new experience to me. That's different fromlots of times, my way of beating about the bush. When you get to know a person from a different background you see the way of communication is not yet established, but getting to know their way of expressing joy and sadness hope and fear is something challenging and, all the more exciting. It is really a great experience to see so many things we don't see and won't when we tried every effort to learn textbook English and raise our grade in exams. I'm more convinced English is not only a language but a culture and an attitude. when people took turns telling their favorite color, favorite food, lots of favorites, I began to see the Americans stress the importance of being an individual person. What if you don't have a favorite? But when everyone has his favorite, the world is more colorful. It's a good thing to see people show love to each other more frankly and direct. It is more fun and good to know them more on a day to day basis than acting as the official representative of Chinese culture. It is a good thing to know on the other side of the planet, they live and work with you. On the last day we met, we tried to take more pictures and stayed together for a few more minutes, people brought presents and leave contact info. We are hoping for a day we meet together in the future, maybe in China or maybe across the Atlantic. We have come together with different nationalities and background, but friendship pass beyond them all. It's been nice meeting you all.

How fast MMk ends! During the second week I feel I have so much to write about. The more I look into what happened, the more I gain. It can be a fresh and rewarding experience. The first time I look at these kids I can;t imagine they were so small, these 12 year olds, their wrinkled brown faces were not always without an expression, it's comforting to see they can laugh out together, and they stand on the playground with the teacher instructing them as usual. we guess they can't tell who are the foreigners. we each group performed, either a song or a show, the Americans invented the alphabetic dance, and it must be very funny to the kids, something completely new. The head shoulder knees song can bring these kids to laughter. every time they turned into a curious shape we can see their smile without fail. And we taught them other foreign songs. In a childhood when they can either sing these silly revolution songs or popular love songs unsuitable to them, I guess these funny foreign songs can be both new and entertaining. The americans sing them the national anthem, after that we began to sing them the pop music they like. these kids are like just the ordinary kids, except that they don't have cell phones. Then it's time for the children to perform. Unsurprisingly no one volunteered to come up. We tried many means so that they can show themselves, but they are just not used to performance. As teacher we performed and made mistakes, I wish it helped them to be just the same, mistakes is nothing terrible, for me it wasn't until I was in high school that I realized it. These kids are not going to go in the same way. Maybe it took effect, and some kids started to stand out bravely on the last day. Drawing was a big part in the project, and kids didn't put pen to paper until we asked them and did the first step. They each followed the other and produced the same picture. we encouraged them to think of something else, a girl asked if she can draw a star. You can draw it if you like, I tried to tell her. THey were reacting as if they never had drawing classes but then they have that. Maybe when they were more familiar with us they would draw more things, and they did. The second time they are going to draw their ideal job. A boy Ray shout out at once, he will be an astronaut. this child, although rebellious and acted bad, has a pure untainted world in his heart. the extrovert jean wants to be a singer, and she can draw well, speak English well, she is confident. she is a born leader. Drawing can help them a lot. We told them to draw a dreamhouse, and aFred said, my house is near hte volcano, he wants to be a monk. i guess teachers will scold him a lot, but I will encourage that. My teacher used to tell us something I was angry to hear, that boys are more creative, but I guess it's really the case, but what i see is girls are more skilled at communication. then it's time for games. kids are most excited playing games. it is a time to know they were more clever than you expected. in the big wind blow, they can have numerous ideas, it took a long time for the ideas to exhaust. School is a good place for them to grow up. THese kids are just like other kids, except they are more submissive. the boys can play very savage games, and the girls are quieter, they're likely ignored. On the third day when we were having lunch, Fred came and told us he would miss us. We were moved. Fred, you've progressed so much these days. from a shy kid to who can respond well when you ask a question. you have been brave, may you continue to be brave. We fold them cranes, we put them on a desk full of cranes. Then we send them heart shaped letters. They were shy to receive these, for them, it's rare to show their love and care. after many years they may still remember the beautiful school teacher called Nancy who had met them and brought love to them, and they may grow up healthily with the teachings on these letters. we take lots of photos of them, they were sitting lien after line on the floor, gazing at you with a blank face, like what we see on a photograph of Afghan, innocent and helpless creatures. the kids take pictures trhemselves, some of them grow to like pictures. They can notice the blue sky and the green trees. then we will leave them. I want to say lots of things to them. I want to tell the bad guys to listen and study well because the teachers are for their own good. I want to tell Fred to wash himself and be confident, to tell ray that he's gifted so that he may not give himself up. to tell Jean she should study well despite the others praise for her. I 'd like to tell a lot but I'm afraid they may not understand. after a few more days they will go on as usual in that stifling little house, what we can do is to show them care...

This is the first week. It's been really great fun. In several days I get to know many friends, some from China some from the US. We learned a lot of new things and we get to know the difference between China and the US. We hope to let Americans know Chinese culture, so we tried to say a lot about the customs the traditions and all aspects of Chinese culture. We talked on a lot of subjects. We talked on some interesting problems. Although we have problems communicating sometimes, we manage to bridge the gap. We benefit a lot when we express ourselves in a completely new surrounding. During the first week we also went to visit the migrant school The conditions there cannot compare to ours, and yet I think it has improved in recent years. The classrooms has been really small, much smaller than we had in our childhood. The children have left school and we can see the empty old chairss. We see the toilets have been poor but clean. Children haven't been easy in schools, so we have the obligation to help them. dWe decided to improve therir condition and bring something new to them.
